I worked with JavaScript and JScript on the same project, installed .NET 1 on the day it was released and made async calls before anyone said "Ajax". 25 years later I build integrations and platforms on .NET and Azure: automated, monitored, and quiet enough that nobody has to think about them.

Stint - Time Logger (Windows, Microsoft Store): a time logger docked to the edge of your screen. One click logs 15 minutes to 8 hours, the report answers "what did I do?". Plain JSON files, no cloud, no account.
WhatWhenHow - Tap & Track (Android, Google Play): track anything in one tap, then see the patterns by day, season and label. Export to CSV and let an AI read it. Offline, nothing leaves the phone.

Experience

2025 - now: Senior Software Developer (Integration Architecture)

Took over integrations built by different teams, each in its own style, and rebuilt them into one coherent platform: same patterns, fully automated, monitored and alerting, no manual intervention. Architecture, DevOps and infrastructure as code on Azure with private networking: Logic Apps, Functions, Docker containers, Event Hubs, Service Bus, SQL, Terraform and Azure DevOps. Teams notifications and alerts for business users, plus small internal apps.

2023 - 2025: Technical Lead

Led delivery of e-commerce and content platforms for mid-sized clients, built on Dynamicweb and Umbraco. Set the technical direction on each project, designed custom integrations with ERP systems and payment providers, planned the work across the developers, reviewed their code and was the main technical contact for clients from requirements to go-live.

2019 - 2023: Senior Software Developer

Websites and e-commerce on Umbraco and Sitecore, custom web APIs, DevOps pipelines and Azure hosting.

2018 - 2019: Senior Software Developer

Sitecore development.

2011 - 2018: Senior Software Developer

Website delivery on a proprietary .NET CMS, plus Umbraco and Sitecore. Rebuilt a clinic's native Android intake app as a jQuery web app with clinician-defined questionnaires and an interactive body map.

2007 - 2011: Database Developer, Banking

T-SQL development in a bank where SQL Server was the application: stored procedures, queries and changes to the business logic, plus DBA work such as indexes and performance tuning, alongside the T24 (Globus) core banking system.

2005 - 2007: Freelance Web Developer

Websites and web applications for clients, end to end.

2001 - 2005: Software Developer

Accounting and ERP-style business applications on SQL Server with MS Access front ends in VBA. Web apps in classic ASP with VBScript, JScript and JavaScript, ActiveX controls and Microsoft Remote Scripting.
